Bath MP Wera Hobhouse has visited award-winning Bath-based investment platform Wealthtime to learn more about the company.

Wealthtime helps people across the UK to invest and save, managing £12 billion of investments for more than 77,000 UK clients. Based in Bath for nearly 20 years, the company employs 160 people locally and supports a further 200 regional jobs.

During her visit to the company’s headquarters, Wera Hobhouse met with senior leaders and employees to understand how the business supports financial advisers and their clients, and how investment platforms help people build long-term financial security.

The visit included a tour of the office and introductions to teams across the business, giving an overview of the range of roles involved in running the platform – from sales and marketing to customer support and product development.

Wera also saw a demonstration of the platform in action, showing how it is used to manage investments and support clients, before spending time speaking with employees, including those on Wealthtime’s Platform Associates programme – a rotational scheme designed to bring new talent into the industry.

Wealthtime employees Elizabeth Venn, Callum Gillard and Tom Richards shared their experiences of working in financial services and the opportunities the sector offers.

The visit concluded with a discussion with Wealthtime’s leadership team about the wider role of the investment platform sector in supporting savers, pensions, and investment into the UK economy, as well as how Government can support further growth.

Toby Larkman, Managing Director at Wealthtime, said, “We were very pleased to welcome Wera Hobhouse to our Bath office. It was a great opportunity to show how our platform works in practice and to highlight the role we play in helping advisers support their clients to invest and save. We were also proud to showcase our amazing employees here in Bath and the contribution they make to the local economy.”

Wera Hobhouse said, “It was a pleasure to visit Wealthtime, a long-standing Bath business that has been part of the local community for 20 years. I really valued the opportunity to meet employees across the organisation and hear first-hand about their positive experiences working in the industry, as well as learning more about the wide range of careers available in financial services. It is encouraging to see a local company supporting people across the UK to save and invest for their futures.”
