Two Bath Rugby legends, a brilliant lunch and an afternoon of conversation, connection and rugby stories are on the menu this International Men’s Day, as Bath Rugby Foundation welcomes Lee Mears and Matt Garvey to Emberwood, Bath.

The International Men’s Day Lunch, taking place on Wednesday 18th November, will bring together businesses, rugby fans, supporters and members of the local community for an afternoon that combines great conversation with a great cause.

Former Bath Rugby players Lee Mears and Matt Garvey will share stories and insights from their careers, with a particular focus on leadership, resilience, supporting others and how to keep going when things get tough – lessons that extend well beyond the rugby pitch.

In a recent video inviting guests to join them, Lee Mears said, “Leadership isn’t about the title on your business card. It’s about how you respond under pressure, supporting others and keeping going when things are getting tough.”

For guests, the afternoon offers the chance to hear from two Bath Rugby favourites while enjoying lunch at Emberwood, meeting new people and making valuable connections with fellow businesses and members of the Bath community.

Whether guests are looking to bring colleagues, entertain clients, meet fellow rugby fans or simply enjoy an afternoon with two Bath Rugby legends, the lunch promises to be a relaxed and entertaining way to mark International Men’s Day.

Through its pathway of support, Bath Rugby Foundation provides social, emotional and practical support for young people who need it but don’t get it, helping them build confidence, develop life skills and create pathways to independence.

Bath Rugby Foundation’s Communications Manager, Lucy Slade, said, “We’re excited to welcome Lee and Matt to our International Men’s Day Lunch. They both have brilliant stories to tell from their time in rugby, but it’s the lessons around leadership, resilience and supporting the people around you that we’re particularly looking forward to hearing about.

“With the fantastic support of Savills and Advanta Wealth, we’re able to bring people together for what we hope will be a really enjoyable afternoon, great food, great conversation and a few rugby stories along the way, while raising vital funds to support our work with young people.”

The lunch will take place at Emberwood, Bath, from 12 noon, with guests enjoying a welcome drink and two-course lunch alongside our speakers.

Businesses, individuals, rugby supporters and local organisations are encouraged to book their places.

Tickets cost £60 per person, including a welcome drink and two-course lunch.
