Celebrating Bath’s independent businesses on Small Business Saturday
Today is Small Business Saturday UK, a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.
The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
This Small Business Saturday, Bath’s Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to share that its much-loved ‘Bath Indie Guide’ has been turned into an online publication.
For a few years, the Bath BID has created a seasonal print publication celebrating and promoting independent businesses in Bath. Packed with information on Bath as a city and the best places to go off the beaten track, the Indie Guide has proved itself a very popular publication for tourists and businesses alike.
The new online trail version of Bath BID’s Indie Guide has been designed to assist future visitors to the city to find independent businesses.
Chief Executive of Bath BID, Allison Herbert, said, “For Small Business Saturday, we are also delighted to announce our partnership with xplore Bath which will make it easier for our local independents to become part of this growing online community celebrating those impressive people in our city who live and breathe their own businesses. Bath BID members will be able to access the services of xplore at a discounted rate.
“Creating the environment for businesses to be successful is a key element of the Bath BID programme and we are committed to supporting our independent and small businesses in the city helping to promote and celebrate them.”
