The Digital Detox Club continues popular offline café series
As more people look for ways to escape digital overwhelm and reconnect offline, The Digital Detox Club continues to grow its popular Offline Café.
The series is a recurring pop-up experience designed to help people step away from screens and reconnect with themselves and others.
Held regularly in Bath, the Offline Café offers a calm, welcoming environment where guests are encouraged to put their phones away and enjoy something increasingly rare: uninterrupted presence.
There’s no pressure to network or perform, simply space to relax, unwind and connect naturally.
Visitors can come alone or with friends, settle in with a drink, take part in gentle conversation prompts, enjoy offline activities, or simply soak up the atmosphere.
The Digital Detox Club Co-founder, Nicola MacDonald, said, “We’ve seen how much people are craving spaces where they can properly switch off. The Offline Café gives people permission to slow down and reconnect without the constant pull of notifications and screens.”
How the Offline Café Works
Step 1 – Switch Off
On arrival, guests are welcomed by The Digital Detox Club team and invited to place their phones in the club’s signature “Tech Motel” – a safe, simple space to leave devices behind for a while.
Without screens competing for attention, many guests notice an immediate shift: minds slow down, conversations flow more naturally, and people begin to feel more present.
Step 2 – Settle In
Guests can find a cosy spot, order a warm drink (and often a slice of cake), choose from a selection of offline activities, and ease into the calm atmosphere.
Step 3 – Connect
Some gather around tables with friends, while others join communal seating to meet new people. For those needing quieter time, there are peaceful corners to read, journal, create, or simply sit and enjoy the gentle background hum of conversation.
The Offline Café is intentionally flexible welcoming both conversation and quietness, sociability and solitude.
As conversations around screen fatigue, burnout, and digital wellbeing continue to grow, The Digital Detox Club hopes the Offline Café can offer a simple but meaningful reminder of the value of being fully present.
