Sensory-friendly Peaceful Parties launches in Bath
Two Bath mums have joined their creative vision and lived experience of raising children with sensory needs in a new venture.
Anna Caldwell and Katie Narciso have formed Peaceful Parties – a new business offering inclusive, sensory-friendly party packages designed especially for children who may find traditional parties overwhelming.
As neurodivergent mums raising neurodivergent children, Anna and Katie know first-hand how typical parties don’t always work for every child. That’s why they started to create sensory-considerate and inclusive celebrations that help families relax, and children feel happy.
Katie said, “We have both experienced the pain of having your child be excited to be invited to a party, but then they find it totally overwhelming and end up in tears -sometimes even at their own birthday party. Some kids need those extra touches, visual timetables, safe quiet corners and activities that meet their sensory needs – that’s why we came up with Peaceful Parties!”
The business provides a range of packages, from DIY party kits delivered through the letterbox to a package where the party kits arrive with calming zones, soft furnishings, and a sensory den.
At Peaceful Parties, Anna and Katie know how important it is to engage children with the things that bring them joy. Many neurodivergent children have unique special interests, whether that’s dinosaurs, Harry Potter, Wicked, animals, or cars. These passions are more than hobbies: they can be a source of joy, comfort, and safety, helping children feel grounded and confident.
Anna explained, “My daughter struggles with high anxiety and always needs to know what she’s doing ‘now and next.’ When anxious, she focuses completely on her special interest – currently Longleat! Designing a party around that gives her joy and comfort and shows her that I’m supporting her interests.”
Peaceful Parties designs every celebration around each child’s unique interests and passions, because when children feel connected to what they love, they also feel safe, valued, and able to enjoy their special day.
In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of supporting children’s sensory needs. Many parents know the struggle of watching their child become distressed in busy, noisy environments. Peaceful Parties offers an alternative, celebrations designed with fun activities, sensory crafts and calm spaces.
