Tech-driven growth: The Fractionals Group backs innovation at the 2025 TBE Awards
The Using Tech to Transform Business category at the 2025 TBE Awards is sponsored by The Fractionals Group.
Helping ambitious founders scale their businesses without the chaos, the company brings together a team of embedded experts across finance and HR, so founders get the right people around them at the right time, without the cost or commitment of full-time hires.
The Fractionals Group is currently working with scale-ups across the UK who are raising investment, building stronger systems and putting the right structure in place for growth.
The goal is to help founders unlock their next stage of growth with less stress, more clarity and a whole lot more momentum.
We spoke to TBE Awards Judge and The Fractionals Group Founder, Kat Wellum-Kent.

Why did you decide to sponsor a TBE Award category this year?
We’re big believers in community. Building a business can be a lonely journey at times, and the TBE Awards are a brilliant reminder that there’s an entire ecosystem of founders, teams and supporters doing great things right here in the region.
Sponsoring felt like a small way to give back, to celebrate the innovation and resilience that we see every day in the founders we work with.
What was it about the category you’re sponsoring that appealed to you?
The Using Tech to Transform Business category couldn’t be more up our street. We see first-hand how the right tech, whether that’s a smart finance stack or an automated ops system, can completely change how a business runs.
Tech, done right, gives founders back their headspace. It helps them lead, not just manage. And that’s exactly the kind of transformation we love to see (and support).
How important is regional recognition like TBE Awards for businesses and organisations?
It’s really important. Recognition like this gives growing businesses a real boost, not just in visibility, but in confidence. It reminds founders that what they’re building matters and that there’s incredible talent thriving outside of London too.
The South West has such a vibrant, ambitious business community, and the TBE Awards do a brilliant job of putting that on the map.
Are there other categories you’ll be keeping a close eye on?
We’ll definitely be watching the Going for Growth and Best Start-Up categories.
The Going for Growth award feels especially close to home. It’s the space we live in every day, helping founders navigate the messy middle between early traction and real scale. It’s where strategy meets momentum, and where the right support can make all the difference.
And Best Start-Up always brings such great energy. Those early stages are full of big ideas, brave moves, and a lot of learning on the fly.
What are you looking forward to about Awards night?
The people, 100%. Awards nights like this bring together the doers, the ones building, experimenting, and driving things forward. It’s always energising to be in a room full of people who care about making things better, not just bigger.
And we’re looking forward to a good chat, a glass of something bubbly, and a proper celebration of what’s being achieved across the region.
Anything else you’d like to add?
We often say, ‘We wear the hats that don’t fit’. Founders are juggling so much, and we love helping them get back to the work only they can do. The TBE Awards shine a light on that same spirit of people finding smarter ways to work, lead and grow.
We’re proud to be part of that story and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on the night.
