KR HR & Training Consultancy is a finalist in this year’s TBE Awards, sponsored by Thrings, in the following categories:

The business supports local SMEs and charities to achieve their goals through recruiting, managing and developing their people effectively. Their mission is to make working life better for you, your team and your organisation as a whole.

From supporting a small business to take on its first employee, through to handling complex restructuring projects or cultural change programmes in larger organisations, KR HR & Training Consultancy is well known for its approachable, supportive and responsive approach.

It’s the first time that the team has entered the TBE Awards, and we caught up with Director Kathryn Fairlie to find out more.

Why did you enter the 2025 TBE Awards?

Entering the 2025 TBE Awards gave us a chance to pause and reflect on how far we’ve come as a team – something that’s easy to overlook in the day-to-day. I confess that my colleague Amandine (our HR Projects & Operations Manager) had to talk me into it, but I am glad she did!

What achievement are you most proud of in the past 12 months?

Being shortlisted as finalists in the TBE Awards has to rank up there as one of our proudest moments of the year! The categories of ‘Dream Team’ and ‘Positive Business’ are central to what’s important about how we work, so to have been nominated for both of these means a lot.

What does being a finalist in the TBE Awards mean to you / your team?

Being a finalist is a proud moment for the four of us as it gives external validation to the often quietly impactful work we do in helping organisations build positive people practices. When we heard the news, we were over the moon! We regularly celebrate each other’s achievements, but external recognition makes it feel even more special.

What’s next for you – any exciting plans or goals on the horizon?

Next year is our 10th business birthday so we are looking forward to more celebrations! We also recognise that 2026 will be a very busy year for us as we support our clients with implementing legal changes as aspects of the Employment Rights Bill come into effect. Additionally, we will be continuing our focus on highlighting the role of the employer in supporting those affected by domestic abuse and have some exciting collaborations planned. Watch this space!

If you win, how will you celebrate?

If you visited our stand at the TBE Show, you will know that in addition to our HR expertise, we’re pretty damn good bakers too! So there will definitely be homemade cake, a glass of something sparkling and the opportunity to come together as a team to mark how far we have come.
