Grade II listed former church goes from sermons to samosas

Christie & Co has announced the leasehold sale of Pomegranate, a large restaurant and bar close to Bath city centre.

The 150-capacity restaurant is located on Walcot Street in a Grade II listed former church and features a private function room.

The restaurant lease has been sold to a London-based hospitality operator specialising in healthy plant-based Indian fusion food.

The new operator said, “We’re excited to share that we have now opened our brand-new Indian vegan and vegetarian restaurant, Sarthi, in the heart of Bath on Walcot Street. What makes this launch particularly special is that it’s a passion project, led by a young female entrepreneur, which started without major investors or big financial backing, just a lot of heart, hard work, and a clear vision.

“Sarthi brings an authentic taste of India with a fully plant-based and vegetarian menu, offering something truly unique in Bath’s vibrant food scene. From dosas and curries to regional favourites rarely seen elsewhere, we’re proud to create a space that’s inclusive, flavourful, and community-driven.”
