TBE Awards | Meet the Finalists: One Family Law
One Family Law Solicitors, based in Bath, is a modern boutique practice transforming how family law is delivered.
The firm has been shortlisted in the 2025 TBE Awards, sponsored by Thrings, in the Best Start Up category, sponsored by SVGC.
Founded by experienced solicitors Victoria Barnett and Tina Marshall-Kelliher, One Family Law is built around a clear mission: to help families navigate change with dignity, clarity, and respect.
Their innovative ‘One Couple, One Solicitor’ model allows separating couples to work with a single trusted advisor, reducing conflict, saving time, and cutting costs. With a focus on practical solutions, transparency, and client care, One Family Law Solicitors offers expert guidance on divorce, separation, children and financial matters – always with empathy and client wellbeing at the heart of their work.
We asked Tina and Victoria about their position as finalists in the 2025 TBE Awards.
Why did you enter the 2025 TBE Awards?
We entered the TBE Awards to be able to share our story and the bolder, values-driven way we’re offering family law to clients. Since founding One Family Law, our mission has been to put clients’ emotional wellbeing at the heart of the legal process and reduce the trauma often associated with separation and divorce. These awards champion innovation and local enterprise – values that resonate deeply with us. Entering is also a way to honour our team’s hard work, the trust of our clients, and the thriving Bath business community that has supported our journey so far.
What achievement are you most proud of in the past 12 months?
What we’ve achieved on paper is great, with 141% growth we’re definitely moving in the right direction. But what makes us proudest are our client outcomes. We never lose sight of the fact that we’re working with individuals in crisis, often at the lowest point in their lives. In times of trouble, it’s easy for professionals to overlook the human element and treat the work as just a job. We never do. Over the past 12 months, we’ve helped families navigate heartbreak and uncertainty with sensitivity, humour, and real care. We’ve put people first, never treating them as just another case, but as individuals who need guidance, clarity, and compassion. The feedback we’ve received from clients, often emotional, always heartfelt, makes every late night and tough conversation worthwhile. It’s a privilege to do this work, and we’re only just getting started!
What does being a finalist in the TBE Awards mean to you / your team?
Being named a finalist is a moment of pride and validation for us. It reflects the courage it took to step away from conventional legal practice and build something truly different. It’s recognition not only of our business growth, but of our values – empathy, collaboration, and transparency. For us, this isn’t just about an award, it’s about shining a light on a better way to support families through life’s toughest transitions and showing that there is positivity and opportunity in such challenging circumstances.
What’s next for you – any exciting plans or goals on the horizon?
The next chapter is about growth with purpose. We plan to expand our team, deepen our network of complementary professionals, and extend the reach of our services to help even more families access constructive, compassionate legal support. We’ll continue our involvement in research and thought leadership to influence positive change in the sector. Our goal is to be a leading voice in reshaping family law, proving that kindness and innovation can go hand in hand and work well together.
If you win, how will you celebrate?
In style! It will be as a team because everything we’ve achieved has been built collaboratively. We’ll take some time to thank our lovely clients, our community, and our families, everyone who’s supported our journey. The award would also be a springboard, we’ll use the recognition to amplify our message, work with likeminded others in the legal sector, and keep driving forward our mission to make family law more human, transparent, and hopeful for the future.
