South West based Excalibur Communications have recently become the Official IT & Communications Partner of Somerset County Cricket Club.

The deal that went through this month, sees Excalibur taking on the provision of Somerset’s entire communications package, including mobile, landline and IT products. In addition, Excalibur have committed to investing back into the club, some of the revenue made from new business contracts they gain from referrals by the club. This enables companies who are associated with Somerset to give back to their club should they take on any of Excalibur’s wide portfolio of business communication solutions.

Situated in Taunton, Somerset Cricket Club offer excellent days and evenings out for cricket fans, venue hire, hospitality, training and sponsorship opportunities. With an extensive portfolio and a need to make year-round revenue, it was imperative that the club had an exceptional communications package to support their particular business requirements. Excalibur have a wealth of experience in managing communications for sports clubs, some of which are very high profile so they understood the set up at Somerset straight away.

Jez Curwin, Head of Commercial Operations at Somerset commented, “The new Partnership with Excalibur is very exciting for the Club. We had identified the need to upgrade our IT and Communications and Excalibur have incredible experience which has proven invaluable. It is great that we can attract new Partners to The County Ground and we look forward to what will be a long standing and productive Partnership for both parties ”.

Excalibur will also be the Official 50 Over Cup Partner for the new season with shirt branding and provision of the Man of the Match Award.

James Phipps, CEO at Excalibur said’ “We were delighted to win the contract with Somerset, we’re helping the club with a new strategy for their communications, with the aim of improving productivity and generating more revenue for them. The products that we provide eliminate the need for the club to be dealing with several different suppliers too, the buck stops with us! As a company, Excalibur have a huge interest in sport and we know how hard it is for seasonal sports to survive during the months where they aren’t pulling the crowds in. As a result, we were more than happy to give something back via sponsorship and the revenue share scheme for new business referrals.”
