Truespeed aims to double its reach in 2023 

Truespeed has ambitious plans to double the size of its network throughout the year ahead, following a successful 2022.

The Bath-based full-fibre broadband provider, which builds and maintains its own network, achieved record levels of growth in the last calendar year, expanding its network by 25,000 properties, connecting 13,000 customers and hiring 84 new employees.

Truespeed’s network reach now stands at over 60,000 properties throughout North Somerset and the South West, and the company employs 225 people.

James Lowther, CEO at Truespeed, said, “2022 was a fantastic year for the business in terms of setting higher ambitions and increasing the pace of our growth while maintaining high customer satisfaction scores and community engagement across the South West.

“Our goal is to more than double the size of our network in 2023 and continue investing across the region. To help achieve this, we also plan to take advantage of the first-class talent pool in the South West and will step up hiring.”

Truespeed has invested heavily across the region in 2022, including £8 million in the Peasedown St John, Midsomer Norton, Keynsham, Saltford and Radstock area, and a further £4 million across Bathwick, Widcombe and Combe Down in Bath.

Looking ahead to 2023, the company is aiming to double its reach to over 120,000 properties by the end of the year.

We want to build a truly better broadband business by putting our customers and communities at the heart of everything we do – by freezing our prices during a cost-of-living crisis, by offering free connections to local schools and community centres and by offering much better customer service. This is our promise to the South West.”
